Ask any Brand, Marketing, or Social Media Manager, there just isn’t enough hours in the day. So wherever possible, it’s essential to plan and schedule ahead.
Fortunately, over the years Facebook has realised this too and introduced features/tools to help. But there’s one feature mangers are still waiting on; cover photo scheduling. After introducing post scheduling in 2012, everyone thought it’d only be a matter of time. But here we are, 4 years later and still no cover photo scheduling!
As it is, to change a cover photo you have to wait until the desired day and time, click upload, check the positioning/resize, and click ‘Save Cover’. If you had to update the cover photo for multiple locations, then you’d have to go to each and every page and do this process. Crazy, right? There should be an easier way. Especially when cover photos are the largest visual elements, front and centre on each and every page.
So we started to think, well, why don’t we just build it?…
How to schedule a cover photo change
Firstly, add the cover photo to your Social.iQ cover photo library. You can upload an image from your device or design one there and then. If you choose to design an image, this will open Canva with a canvas size of 851×315 pixels, optimised for display. Then it’s just a matter or selecting when and where you’d like this cover photo to be published. You can choose any date/time and any location or group that is currently setup on Social.iQ. A full-step-by-step video on how to add and schedule cover photo via Social.iQ is available here.
So now you can spend less time uploading and more time designing! Not sure where to start? Check out these 12 creative ways to use your cover image to make a lasting impact.
